Appreciation post: the tiny computer lab at the Richmond library got me started
I stopped by the main branch on Franklin Street last week and saw they have a free beginner coding class with 12 old desktop machines and a retired teacher named Mr. Bailey walking people through Python basics. He had a laminated sheet taped to every monitor showing what a loop does, and the person next to me wrote her first working program in about 20 minutes. It made me think a lot of us could skip the paid courses and just check what our local library offers. Has anyone tried one of these free classes, and did it actually stick for you?
