Spent 4 hours debugging a missing semicolon in Python... which doesn't even need semicolons

I was following this tutorial on YouTube and copied some JavaScript code by accident. Spent forever checking brackets and indentations. Finally asked my friend to look at it and he just laughed. Felt like an absolute fool. Has anyone else wasted time on something that dumb?

Oh man, "copied some JavaScript code by accident" - I've been there so bad. One time I spent like an hour trying to figure out why my Python script was throwing errors, and it turned out I had accidentally left in a bunch of curly braces from a C++ project I was working on earlier. The worst part was I kept looking at the indentation thinking I messed up the spacing when Python doesnt even care about stupid curly braces. My roommate walked in and saw me staring at my screen with a confused look and just pointed at the lines with the braces and said "those dont go there." Felt like such a rookie mistake even though Ive been coding for like 5 years now.

In a code editor, curly braces stand out pretty clearly though.
