Vent: wasted $200 on that "learn Python in 30 days" course
Bought this online course last month that promised to teach me Python from scratch in a month. It was just a guy reading slides for 20 hours with zero practical exercises. I got through week two before I realized I could have learned the same stuff for free on YouTube. Anyone else get burned by a hyped up coding course?

Zero practical exercises" is fair, but some people learn fine from just reading slides if they actually code on their own.

My last job paid for a $500 "leadership course" that was literally just a guy telling us to "sync calendars better" for 8 hours. Slides are fine for some people but it feels like most of these paid courses are just recycling free blog posts with a price tag slapped on.

nah i gotta disagree with @keith274 here, 200 bucks for a guy reading slides is a scam and you can get way better structured free stuff on yt or even the official python docs.
