Am I the only one who had a terrible Wednesday at the comic shop? Last week was rough.

I usually love Wednesdays because that's new comic day, but last week nothing went right. The shop was out of the new issue of Ultimate Spider-Man I was waiting on, and then a guy next to me spilled his soda all over the grab bag section. Has anyone else had a comic day that just bombed completely?

Hate to be that person, but Wednesdays are technically new comic day, not new comic day on Thursday or whatever else people think. Last week my shop was a mess too, but for me it was the new guy at the register who kept asking everyone what variant cover they wanted and then just staring at the screen for five minutes. The grab bag soda thing sounds like a real bummer though, that stuff gets everywhere.

Oh man, I've been there. The shop I go to had a new guy a few months back who couldn't figure out the computer system at all. Took him like 15 minutes just to ring up a single issue of X-Men. What finally worked for me was just being super direct and patient, like "Hey man, I just want the regular cover, no variants today." I also started bringing the exact cash for my pulls so he didn't have to mess with the card reader. After a few weeks he got the hang of it, actually turned out to be a decent dude once he stopped sweating the small stuff.
