Buddy of mine spent 400 bucks on a Batman slab just to keep it in a box under his bed.

I had to do the same thing for a while with my old vinyl collection. Bought a bunch of stuff I really wanted to display but didn't have the room for it. Ended up getting a simple glass display case at a garage sale for twenty bucks and put it on a shelf in the hallway. Now I can walk past it every day and actually enjoy looking at the covers instead of digging through a box every few months. Makes a big difference when you can see your collection.

Blair's friend is missing the whole point of slabbing. I've seen people treat graded comics like stocks or crypto, something to lock away and hope goes up in value. But a comic is a story, and a slab turns it into a dead object. I got a cheap comic frame for my Spider-Man #300 and hung it near my desk, and I catch myself looking at it all the time, not for the price but for that classic McFarlane cover. If you're not gonna read it or look at it, you might as well have bought a stock certificate with Batman on it. That 400 bucks could have bought two or three raw copies you could actually flip through on a rainy day.
