I had a lightbulb moment while digging through dollar bins.
The search is half the fun for us fans.

My friend Sarah's dollar bin dive uncovered a vintage concert poster she'd been seeking for ages.

Sweet find, though most people call it dollar bin digging, not diving.

At the flea market last weekend, the dollar bin was pure chaos. Like @ray173 said, it's digging, but I treat it like a puzzle. I always go early on Saturday when they restock, and I flip through every section, not just the stuff I usually like. Last month, I found an 80s punk single in great condition buried under a stack of country records. It takes a lot of patience, but that's part of the fun for me. You just have to keep looking because the good stuff is always hiding.

A concert poster in a dollar bin? That's the kind of find you hear about but never see. Most of those bins are full of water-damaged paperbacks and old phone books. You'd expect a poster to be torn or scribbled on, not something someone would actually want. Sarah must have had some incredible luck to pull that off.
