My old long box finally gave out after twenty years

The bottom just split open last week while I was moving some stuff in the garage. Comics from the early 2000s spilled all over the dusty floor. I spent an hour carefully picking them up, checking each one for bent corners. It felt weird seeing those old price stickers and my handwriting on the bags. Anyone have a good replacement storage box they trust?

Nah, sorry @patricia32, but I gotta push back here. Those cardboard long boxes from the shop are a ticking time bomb. My buddy bought one of those "same corrugated" deals and it buckled in a damp basement after one humid summer. The bottom sagged, creased a Punisher MAX run, and I still give him grief about it. Plastic bins with handles are the way to go, even if you have to hunt for the right size at a big box store. A couple bucks more now saves you from picking up dusty books off a garage floor like OP had to.

Honestly, I'd just get another long box from the local comic shop. They're all basically the same corrugated cardboard. My last one came with a set of boards and it's been fine for years in a closet. No need to overthink it.

Ugh, my buddy tried that and it was a total mess. He got a cheap long box that felt flimsy right out of the shop. A few months later the bottom just gave out in his attic, like a slow collapse. He lost a bunch of books to bent corners and one got a huge crease. Now he swears by the plastic ones even though they cost more.

Sounds like your buddy just bought a bad box.
