PSA: The comic shop in the old mall in Akron had a 'no backpacks' sign up last weekend.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but that felt like a weird vibe for a place that's supposed to be for fans to hang out and browse, idk, has anyone else seen shops doing stuff like that?

Yeah, that "real bummer" part is exactly right. I read an article where a security guy said it's mostly about moving crowds faster and stopping people from bringing in stuff they shouldn't. But it feels like they're punishing everyone for a few bad apples. Now you gotta cram everything into a tiny bag or just carry it, which is a huge pain for a whole day event. It really does take away from the fun when you're just trying to be prepared.

Ugh, totally feel that. So @west.cameron, when you read that article, did the security guy have any real answer for the people who need stuff like medical supplies or baby things? It just seems like a lazy one-size-fits-all rule that ignores actual needs. They claim it's for speed, but I've been stuck in longer lines because people are fumbling with a dozen loose items.
