Stood in line at a comic con panel for 45 minutes only to hear the writer rant about modern fandom for 20 minutes straight.
Tbh I went to a local convention last month and this guy in a Frank Miller shirt just blasted everyone under 30 for not reading Silver Age stuff, has anyone else run into that gatekeeping energy at shows?

Man people just love feeling superior about things they discovered first, happens everywhere not just at cons.

Wait, pat_murray53, are you saying people actually get weird about being first? I remember at a comic con in Cleveland this guy spent ten minutes bragging he saw Black Panther before anyone in our group. It was so awkward watching him try to flex over a movie ticket.

Is it just me or does that gatekeeping attitude show up in everything now, even at the grocery store when someone wants to tell you they've been buying that yogurt brand since before it was cool?
