That $150 graded comic I got off eBay was a total scam

I bought a CGC graded Amazing Spider-Man #300 from a seller with good feedback. Paid $150 thinking I was getting a deal. Turned out the case was resealed and the comic inside was a reprint. Lost all my money and eBay wouldn't help because I waited 45 days to open it. Has anyone else gotten burned by fake slabbed comics on there?

$150 is hardly worth getting this worked up over" - nah, I gotta disagree hard on that. $150 is a lot of money to most people, and getting burned like that stings no matter what the amount is. I got hit with a fake CGC graded X-Men #1 once, paid $200 and opened it two months later. Same exact thing, resealed case with a beat up reprint inside. I was so mad I couldn't sleep for two days. It's the betrayal feeling that gets you more than the cash.

$150 is hardly worth getting this worked up over, just write it off as a lesson learned.

Honestly, I used to be one of those people who'd say "it's just $150, whatever" but after getting burned on a fake slabbed New Mutants #98 myself, I totally changed my mind. You're right about the betrayal feeling - it's not just the money, it's knowing someone went out of their way to trick you. I waited almost two months to crack mine open and by then the seller had vanished. eBay told me tough luck too. It makes you paranoid about buying anything graded online now, which sucks because that's how most of us have to shop.
