Trying to settle a debate about the best Spider-Man artist took me three whole days

My buddy Greg and I got into it last weekend about who draws the best Spider-Man. He was all about Todd McFarlane, I was pushing for John Romita Sr. It started as a normal chat but turned into this whole thing. I spent maybe 8 hours just digging through my long boxes to find specific issues to prove my point, then another few hours scanning panels to send him. We were texting back and forth with pictures like 'see the way the webbing flows here' and 'look at the posture in this fight scene.' It was ridiculous. I even called my cousin who used to work at a comic shop for backup. What should have been a 10 minute talk ate up my whole weekend. Anyone else ever lose a huge chunk of time to a nerdy argument like that?

Honestly, it's just a drawing style. You guys were fighting over personal taste like it was a fact.

But some styles are just objectively bad though, like when the hands look like sausages.

Wait they were fighting about art style... over personal taste? That's wild.
