Appreciation post: the old timer who showed me the zip tie trick for regulator hoses

I used to hate how my regulator hoses would always tangle up around my tank during dives, especially on deeper jobs off the coast of Port Orchard. This old guy with 30 years in the gulf saw me fighting with it and just handed me a handful of zip ties. He showed me how to run the hose along the tank strap and secure it at two points with the ties, then clip the ends flush. Now my hoses stay clean and I don't waste air time untangling. Has anyone else got a quick rigging tip that saves them hassle underwater?

Heard someone filed the nubs down smooth so they don't snag on anything.

Hang on, the "clip the ends flush" part got me. You just leave those sharp little nubs on there? I feel like that would shred my drysuit seals first time I bumped against them.

Heard a buddy of mine swears by using a bungee cord to secure his SPG to his BC's shoulder strap, keeps it right in his line of sight without any dangly bits. He said it was a game changer for not having to fish around for his gauge during low vis dives in Puget Sound. Might be worth a try if zip ties aren't your thing.
