Appreciation post: The worst visibility I've ever had was on a job in the Gulf last Tuesday.
We were supposed to be inspecting a pipeline at 90 feet, but the silt was so thick I could barely see my own gauges. The current kept shifting and I spent four hours just trying to stay oriented and not get my umbilical tangled. Has anyone else had a job where you basically had to work blind?

Been there... keep your hand on the umbilical and move slow, it's your only real reference point. I get what @violag80 means about working by feel, but that silt will mess with you.

Sounds rough, but honestly I prefer low vis. Forces you to work by feel and trust your training.
