I always thought those fancy dive computers were just overpriced toys

For years, I stuck with my basic gauges and a watch, thinking the $1,200 for a Shearwater Teric was a total waste. Then, on a salvage job in Lake Michigan last October, the visibility dropped to nothing and my buddy's computer flagged a missed deco stop I completely missed on my slate. That screen showing my exact tissue loading and ascent rate in real time changed my mind fast. Anyone have a go-to computer they trust for zero-vis work?

Wait, didn't your buddy's computer save you, not your own?

Guess I'm the poster child for learning the hard way. My wallet still hasn't forgiven me for buying my Teric after that trip.

Should've just rented one for the trip.
