PSA: Old timer on a dock in Morehead City told me never to trust a shackle that's been sitting in the sun
He said UV kills the pin grease faster than saltwater does, and we pulled one on his barge that was seized solid after 8 months dry docked. Anyone else got a pre-dive check they swear by that nobody taught in school?
