Saw a lift bag fail on a 500-pound pipe at 60 feet last Tuesday
Was working a salvage job in San Diego and the D-ring on the bag let go. We had to send a tender down with a backup bag and re-rig the whole thing before we could even surface. Has anyone else had a D-ring snap on them unexpectedly?

Check the webbing loop next time too, that's where mine failed.

A D-ring snapping is a pain but it's not exactly life or death. You had a backup plan and a tender ready to go, so it sounds like you handled it fine. Stuff breaks, that's why we do pre-dive checks.
