That old diver who told me to never trust a drysuit zipper on a boat...

Last summer off the coast of Galveston, I followed his advice and packed a spare zipper repair kit in my bag, and when my main zipper blew out 40 feet down, I was able to fix it in 10 minutes instead of aborting the whole dive.

Whoa, hold on, you fixed a blown drysuit zipper in 10 minutes at 40 feet? That's wild. I've been diving for fifteen years and I've never even heard of someone pulling off a zipper repair underwater, let alone with a kit. What kind of kit did you have, one of those emergency sliders and some glue?

10 minutes at 40 feet"? It was more like 6 minutes and 25 feet, but close enough.

Ha, no that wasn't me. A buddy of mine tried to fix a fin strap at 20 feet once with a zip tie, took him most of the dive and it still fell off.
