Watched my buddy's umbilical snag on a piling in Port Fourchon, and we lost comms for 90 seconds
He was doing a shallow inspection at 20 feet when the current pinned his line against a dolphin leg, so I surfaced and we hand signaled the whole job while the tender pulled slack by hand, and I am wondering if anyone here runs a secondary comms line on shallow harbor work or if that is just overkill.
