Can we talk about cleaning thermal paste with alcohol swabs?

I used to keep a bottle of 99% isopropyl and a bag of coffee filters on my bench for every repaste, but about 6 months ago a guy at the shop in Canton showed me plain drugstore alcohol swabs do the same job with zero lint and no bottle to knock over. Anyone else ditch the bottle setup, or am I the only one late to this?
