Got a client's PC back from a repair shop in Phoenix and found thermal paste all over the CPU pins

They must have used half a tube of the stuff... it was caked under the socket too. Has anyone else dealt with a botched repair that made your job harder?

Man I thought I was bad with toothpaste tubes, that's a whole other level of messy. At least they're consistent - sloppy on the paste AND sloppy on the cleanup.

Did they at least leave a little bow on it like it was a gift? At least now you know what not to do when you teach a class on how to mess up a CPU install.

Did they use a whole tube of toothpaste on that CPU or what? I found peanut butter in a RAM slot once.
