Had a client's server room flood from a hidden AC leak
I was at a small law firm in Tampa, checking on their main file server that kept dropping offline. Found water dripping from a ceiling tile right onto the rack. The building's AC drain line had clogged and backed up. I shut everything down, moved the hardware to a dry spot, and called an emergency plumber. Has anyone else had to deal with a surprise water issue in a client's setup?

Actually think you handled that wrong. Should have pulled the server first, then worried about the water source.

Wait, you're saying there was a server in the water? That changes everything... I just saw a puddle and a sparking outlet, figured the source was the main problem.

Okay but hold up, is a server in a puddle actually that big of a deal? It's probably already fried. The real issue was the sparking outlet that could've started a fire. Focusing on a dead piece of hardware in water seems like missing the point. You fixed the live danger first, which was the right call.
