Hit 100 remote fixes in a month and my opinion flipped on remote work

I used to think remote support was for lazy techs who couldnt handle a screwdriver. Then last month I logged my 100th remote fix for a client in Spokane, all through a $25 jump box I set up myself. Turns out half the issues I drive out for are just driver conflicts or messed up permissions that I can solve in 15 minutes flat. The catch is you need rock solid documentation or youll spend an hour trying to remember which port you mapped. Any other techs out there who swore by onsite visits but ended up liking the remote side more?

Ha, I still keep a screwdriver in my bag for EMOTIONAL support, but honestly my back thanks me every time I fix a printer from my couch instead of crawling under someones desk. Remote work humbled me real fast once I realized my biggest skill was just reading logs, not lugging hardware.
