I always thought canned air was fine for cleaning out PCs until last month
Had a dusty gaming rig come in from a client in Boise, and I used my usual three cans of air to blast it out. The dust just went everywhere and settled back in. Then I borrowed a coworker's Metro Datavac electric duster, which cost about 80 bucks. That thing pulled everything out in one go, no mess. It took me 10 minutes instead of 30, and the inside looked brand new. I'm never going back to the cans. Has anyone else switched to an electric blower, and which one do you like?

Oh man, I feel that so hard. I wasted so much money on those cans before I finally got a proper blower. The dust just swirling around and coming right back was the worst part. I grabbed a cheap one from Amazon a couple years ago and it's still going strong. What took you so long to make the switch?

Right? I kept telling myself the cans were fine, but I was basically just moving dust from one spot to another. The blower actually gets it out of the keyboard cracks and off the desk for good. I think I was just stuck in the old way of doing things for way too long lol.

Remember when people used to blow into old Nintendo cartridges? I swear that's why I stuck with cans for so long, just felt like the right way to clean tech lmao.
