Just realized how a simple BIOS update saved a motherboard I thought was dead

I had this old board that wouldn't post no matter what I tried. Spent hours testing components and was ready to scrap it. Out of ideas, I flashed the BIOS with a USB, and it booted right up. Still confused why the original BIOS got corrupted without any clear cause. It's a relief to see it working again.

But was it actually dead... or just needed a reset? BIOS gets messed up sometimes, it doesn't mean the whole board is bricked. Glad it worked out, but it sounds more like a quick fix than a rescue mission.

Honestly half the time it's just a loose power cable.

My old laptop needed a new bios chip once.

How's a dead boot not bricked?
