Pulled 3 dead power supplies from one office yesterday - all the same model

I was swapping out a dead workstation at a law firm in Minneapolis and found three dead Corsair CX430s in their storage closet. All failed within 2 years of each other. Checked the serials and they were from the same production batch in 2017. Made me wonder how many more of these are ticking time bombs in people's machines. Anyone else run into a bad batch like this from a specific year?

Feel for you, that's a rough haul in one day. I've definitely seen some models have bad runs like that where you just lose all trust in them.

Oh man, I HAVE been there. It sucks when you're just watching that thing fail over and over and you start second-guessing every little thing. What worked for me was to completely stop using that model for a few days. Give it a full break, clean the contacts real good, and then try again fresh. Sometimes they just get "stuck" in a bad cycle and need a full reset. I also started keeping a log of which models have those bad streaks so I know who's reliable and who's about to make me lose my mind. It's not you, the model is just being a total jerk sometimes.
