Spent $80 on a cable management kit that came with zip ties too short for my server rack

I was excited to clean up the rats nest behind my rack, but every zip tie was maybe 4 inches long... couldn't even wrap around the thicker bundles. Anyone else wasted money on a kit that just didn't fit the job?

Ugh, I bought one of those cheap sets on Amazon for like $30 and same problem. Ended up just grabbing a big bag of 12 inch zip ties from Home Depot for $8 and it was way better. Also started using velcro straps for the bundles I might need to change out later, that saved me a ton of hassle. Sometimes the simplest solution really is the best one.

How did the velcro straps hold up over time, did they stay stuck to the desk?

Did you try using the zip ties to bundle the smaller cables before you gave up? I had a similar issue with a kit that came with those skinny velcro strips that couldn't hold a phone charger. Ended up with zip ties holding my power strip to the wall mount, not ideal but it worked.
