That one Tuesday where everything just clicked

Honestly, last month I had a day that was so smooth it almost felt wrong. I was working on a client's old Dell tower that kept blue screening with some random IRQ error. Normally those types of issues take me all morning to trace down, but I decided to check the RAM sticks first instead of driver hunting. Pulled one out, saw a tiny bit of corrosion on the pins, cleaned it with some isopropyl alcohol and hit it with a little 1500 grit sandpaper. Popped it back in and the machine booted right up and ran stable for 3 hours straight. Then the next job was a simple SSD swap on a Lenovo laptop, and the guy had already backed everything up to a flash drive which never happens. Finished both by 11am and spent the rest of the day organizing my cable bin. Has anyone else had a day where you just nail every diagnosis on the first try?

Had a buddy tell me about a day like this last spring. He fixes up old gaming rigs for people on the side. He got a call about a PC that wouldn't post at all, just sat there with a black screen and the fans running. Normally he'd spend an hour swapping parts in and out, but he said something told him to just reseat the CPU. He pulled the cooler, lifted the chip, saw a bent pin on the corner. Tweaked it back with a mechanical pencil tip, slapped everything back together, and it fired up first try. Then the next job was a power supply swap where the customer had already unplugged everything and labeled each connector with masking tape. He was done with both by lunch and spent the afternoon just playing old games on his own setup. Said it felt like the universe was finally cutting him a break.

That "tweaked it back with a mechanical pencil tip" part got me. I've done that exact move on old AM3+ boards where the pins are basically made of butter. But here's what I'm wondering - do you think those days where everything clicks are just luck, or is it more like your brain finally stops overthinking and lets your hands do what they already know? Because when I'm chasing some weird IRQ error I'll burn two hours swapping drivers and booting into safe mode, but if I just stop and think "what's the simplest thing that could be wrong" I usually find it in ten minutes.
