The one thing every new tech forgets to check first
Ngl I see guys spending 30 minutes swapping out RAM or drives when the issue is just a loose cable inside. Last week a customer brought in a "dead" PC and I just reseated the power connector, took maybe 2 minutes. Has anyone else noticed newer techs skip the simple checks?

Did your friend end up feeling like a genius or more like an idiot? I had a buddy who spent an hour troubleshooting a monitor only to realize he never plugged it into the wall.

Actually I read somewhere that something like 60% of tech support calls are just power issues. So your buddy was basically living the average IT experience but from the OTHER side of the phone. Makes me feel a LITTLE better about the time I spent 20 minutes trying to turn on a lamp I forgot to plug in.
