Took a $50 gamble on a used laptop battery, it paid off
Had a Dell Latitude from 2019 that would die at 30% battery. Replacement from the parts guy was $120. Found a pull from a decommissioned one on eBay for $50 in Phoenix. Been running a month now, holds charge like new. Anyone else had luck with pulls over new batteries?

Dang, Phoenix in summer and that battery still holds up? That's wild, heat kills laptop cells faster than anything. Most pulls I've seen are dead on arrival or last a week before they swell up. Sounds like you hit the jackpot on that one, good for you man.

I read a thread on r/laptops a while back where a guy tested pulls from corporate lease returns and said the vast majority were showing 85 to 92 percent health even after 3 years of office use, because they just sat on docks all day. That made me way more comfortable trying a pull myself. But you're right about the heat, Phoenix is brutal, my buddy lost a brand new battery to a car dashboard mount in like 4 months. Your luck with that one makes me wonder if Dell's quality control on the factory cells is actually worse than the used ones out there. I've been keeping mine between 20 and 80 percent charge and it's still going strong at 6 weeks now, so maybe that helps too.
