Warning: Client paid me $80 to "fix" a PC that was just unplugged from the wall
Last Tuesday I drove 25 minutes to a dentist's office in Bakersfield because their front desk PC wouldn't turn on, and I kid you not, the power strip under the desk was switched off. The office manager swore up and down that "IT stuff just breaks on its own" and watched me like a hawk the entire time I was there. I flipped the switch, charged them the $80 house call fee, and now I'm wondering how many of my other service calls are just stuff that got bumped loose. Anyone else keep a running tally of the dumbest easy fixes you've ever billed for?
