Had a homeowner in Phoenix ask me to stamp a paw print pattern for his cat

This guy wanted a custom concrete patio with a repeating cat paw print stamp. He showed me a picture of his cat's actual paw and said, 'Make it look like he walked across it while it was wet.' I had to explain that stamps are pre-made tools, not magic. We settled on a basic broom finish, but he still asked if I could freehand one print in the corner 'for luck.' Anyone else get a wild request that just made you laugh?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy's story. A client asked him to inlay a single, perfect blue marble into a shower floor to represent a "tear of the ocean." They brought the marble themselves, this little glass craft store thing. He managed to set it, but was sweating bullets the whole time troweling around it.

Man that's wild lol. @avery_flores, I keep thinking about the client's side of it, like they had this whole vision for a single perfect thing in a huge floor. The pressure wasn't just on your buddy to not mess up, but on that little marble to actually look right once it was surrounded by all that tile. One tiny blue spot in a whole shower, you'd have to hope it doesn't just look like a mistake or something you dropped.

Oh that's nothing, you should have seen the lady who wanted her terrier's face pressed into a fresh sidewalk slab. She brought a photo and everything, wanted it as a "forever mark." Had to tell her concrete doesn't work like clay, you'd just get a blurry mess. We ended up writing the dog's name with a stick instead, and she cried happy tears. People get the sweetest, weirdest ideas for their pets.
