My crew tried a new release agent on a driveway pour in Austin last August - big mistake.
We were finishing a 40-yard driveway and the stuff made the surface slick as ice - couldn't get a decent broom finish no matter what we did. Ended up having to power wash the whole thing the next day and re-spray it with a different agent. Has anyone else dealt with a release agent that just doesn't work right with their mix?

Yo, has your buddy ever had a release agent turn his concrete into a skating rink? My friend down in San Antonio tried one on a small patio job back in July and the broom just slid right off the surface, left it looking like a mess. He had to grind the whole thing down and start over with a different brand, total nightmare.

July heat in San Antonio will mess with anything, probably not the release agent's fault.

Changed my mind, honestly. I used to blame the release agent first when stuff went wrong, but maybe I was just ignoring the heat and humidity factor. Good point.
