Overheard a pump operator drop a nugget about slump loss
I was waiting on a load in Austin last Thursday and caught two guys talking about how they time their water addition on hot days, something about adding it in thirds instead of all at once. They said it keeps the slump more stable during the pour and cuts down on surface cracks later, which honestly made me reconsider my whole routine. Has anyone else tried splitting the mix water like that, or do you just dump it and go?
