Poured 11 yards by myself in 94 degree heat and the slump test hit 4 inches on the nose
So this was two Saturdays ago in Modesto, a small patio slab job for a guy who wanted it done before his wife's birthday party. My mixer driver and I had a bet going about whether the third truck would come in too wet because of the heat, and I checked the slump myself with the cone and it dropped exactly 4 inches, dead center of where I spec'd it. I got it screeded, floated, and edged with the mag before any crust started setting up, which for 94 degrees and no shade is not something I'd bet on again. It mattered because I've had three pours this summer come in at 6 or 7 inches and I had to send them back, costing everyone half a day. Anyone else noticing their local plants getting stingier with the water this year, or is it just my area?
