Switched from a hand trowel to a power trowel after watching a guy finish a slab in 10 minutes
I was always dead set on hand troweling everything. Thought power trowels were for lazy guys who didn't care about a smooth finish. Then last week I watched a crew finish a 30x40 garage slab in about 10 minutes with a power trowel and it looked perfect. Tried one out on my own small walkway job yesterday and it cut my time in half. Anyone else hold out on switching tools longer than they should have?

Ain't that the truth. What made you finally give in and try one?

Watched a guy do a 20x20 patio in one pass and that was it for me. Made the switch and never looked back. Just keep a light touch with it and don't let it sit in one spot too long or it'll dig in and leave swirls. I still use a hand trowel for edges and tight spots though, power trowels are useless in corners.

And once you learn the float and finish pass youll never go back to hand troweling a whole slab.
