The bull float handle snapped clean off on a Tuesday pour
We were finishing a garage slab in Bellingham, about two hours into the job. I went to pull the float back for another pass and the aluminum tube just gave way, right at the threaded joint. Had to send the apprentice running to the truck for the spare while I kept things moving with a hand trowel. Anyone have a good fix for a stripped thread on these, or is it just time for a new one?

Try a helicoil insert before you toss it.

Totally saved an engine block with one last year, they're a real lifesaver.

Yeah, helicoils are solid. I used a M8x1.25 kit from the parts store on a stripped spark plug hole. Cleaned the threads with brake cleaner, used the right tap, and it's been holding for two years now.
