Trowel sizes I used 15 years back vs what the crew runs now

Back in 2008 on a big slab in Phoenix we all carried 36x4s and thought that was the only way to get a good finish. Last week I subbed with a crew in Tucson and everyone was running 48s and magnetics, they looked at me like I had two heads. You find yourself fighting the old habits or do you just switch over and keep up?

The whole "looked at me like I had two heads" thing is pretty much how everything goes now. I notice the same shift with basic stuff like cordless drills, everyone acts like old tools are relics. You adapt because the new stuff works, but part of you still misses the weight of what you learned on.
