Had to pick between a $200 fiberglass ladder or a $400 aluminum one for my side gig

Went with the fiberglass after an electrician buddy told me about getting zapped through an aluminum one on a commercial site, and three months in I've already dropped it off a roof twice and it still holds up fine but I'm worried about it cracking in the summer heat down here in Phoenix - anyone else deal with fiberglass brittleness in the desert?

Used to swear by aluminum but you might've just saved me a trip to the ER.

lol I had a buddy who swore by aluminum too until he dropped his whole rig on his foot and the handle warped into a question mark. @lucast81 you're making the right call for sure. I switched to stainless steel a few years back after my aluminum pole bent in half during a storm and nearly took out my tent. Never going back now.

Yeah I read somewhere that stainless is way less likely to snap under pressure, @lucast81 glad you're making the switch.
