Picked flat earth youtube over mainstream doc for my commute

Tbh I had to choose between a Netflix documentary on space or a flat earth debunking playlist for my 45 minute drive last week. I went with the debunking route just to see what the arguments actually are. Turns out the flat earth crowd has some wild logic that falls apart fast but it was entertaining.

Actually I'd kind of push back on that @daniel_cooper34. I have watched both types of videos and I think the debunking ones can be just as flawed sometimes. The flat earth stuff is obviously wrong but the debunkers tend to overcompensate by oversimplifying real science to make it sound super simple when it's actually more complex lol. I watched one that claimed the Coriolis effect proves the globe but then a physics friend told me the math they used was way too basic for that particular experiment. I get wanting to save time but sometimes the "real science" people push is just as cherry picked as the stuff they're supposedly debunking. It's like choosing between two bad faith arguments sometimes honestly.

Watch the debunking ones instead. Saves time and you learn the real science without wasting 45 minutes.

Had a buddy swear by those debunking videos after wasting a month on some ancient astronaut theory. He said the guy running the channel broke down the faulty evidence piece by piece, and it just clicked for him how those shows twist facts. Saved him from looking like a fool arguing about pyramid power at a party.
