Started checking declassified docs against what the news says, and the page count keeps not adding up
Back in March I got into a rabbit hole about the JFK files after a guy at my barber shop in Toledo kept going on about the 2021 release. Instead of just reading hot takes, I started pulling the actual PDFs from the National Archives and counting how many pages were still redacted versus what the evening news claimed was full transparency. In one 400 page CIA batch, roughly 60 pages were still blacked out, and the anchors kept saying the release was basically complete. Has anyone else tried comparing the primary docs to the coverage like this, and what tools do you use to keep track of what got left out?
