That guy at the gun show who swore 9/11 was an inside job because of melting point of steel
I was at a show in Richmond last fall. This dude in a camo hat cornered me by the jerky booth and went off for a solid 15 minutes about how jet fuel cant melt steel beams. I asked him if he ever actually looked at the NIST report and he just said they were all bought off. I walked away but I still think about how he had zero interest in evidence. Anyone else run into someone who just wont engage with facts no matter what you show them?

Did you try to actually agree with him on some small point first? I had a guy like that once and after I told him I thought the official story had some weird parts too he actually listened for a minute. Not saying it changed his mind but at least he stopped yelling.

Man I had a similar thing happen at a truck stop diner once. I just nodded and said "yeah the weather data from that day does look a little off" and he went from red faced to actually talking calm for a bit. Sometimes you just gotta give them one little thing to feel heard.

Tried something similar with a guy at the local hardware store who was convinced the moon landing was faked. He was going on about flags flapping and shadows not matching. I just said "you know, I always wondered why the sky looks so black in those pictures, that part never made sense to me." He actually stopped and started talking about NASA's budget being a mess instead of yelling. Didn't change his whole belief system but we ended up having a normal 10 minute conversation about space stuff. Sometimes just meeting them halfway keeps things civil.
