That time I realized the moon landing footage I swore was fake... was actually just a bad transfer

Back in high school I was all about the moon landing hoax theories. Watched all the grainy old videos, pointed out the flag waving, the weird shadows, the whole deal. Then last year I went to this space history talk at the local library in my town of Salem. This retired NASA engineer showed us the actual original film reels from the Apollo missions, transferred to 4K. The details were insane, you could see dust kick up exactly like it does in a vacuum. I felt pretty dumb honestly. But it got me wondering - how many other conspiracy theories are just based on bad copies of the original source material? Has anyone else dug into an old mystery and found the "evidence" was just a low quality recording screwing things up?

So did that 4K footage actually show the flag rippling, or was it just the pole moving lmao

Ngl by the time they zoomed in you could barely tell what was moving anymore. Looked like the whole pole was wobbling but the flag itself barely had any life to it. Guess the 4K just made the pole shake look extra dramatic lmao.
