Borrowed a drone for site inspection and it saved me 4 hours of ladder work
I spent last Thursday climbing up and down scaffolding checking flashing on a 3-story commercial building in Austin, then a buddy loaned me his DJI and I got the same info in 20 minutes. Has anyone else switched to drones for roof inspections, or do you still prefer getting eyes on it personally?

That loose bracket thing is real though, I've caught a few that way myself.

Man I gotta say I'm still old school on this one. There's stuff a drone just can't catch like a loose bracket or a soft spot in the flashing you gotta feel with your hands. I'd rather spend the extra time climbing than miss something that costs me a callback.

Yeah I totally get that. Nothing beats actually touching the material when you're looking for hidden problems. A drone gives you a good look but your hands know things that a camera just can't pick up.
