Compared a $150 laser level to a $600 one on a commercial job last week and the difference was night and day
The cheap one drifted after 20 minutes in the sun, the expensive one held its line all afternoon even after I dropped it off a ladder - has anyone else noticed the cheaper ones just can't handle heat?.

Yeah, the cheap ones just can't handle real job site heat.

Did you ever try swapping out the cheap switch for a better one? I found that made all the difference on my last job.
