Drone mapping made me question my 20 years of grade checking

I ran a drone survey on a 5 acre pad in Austin last Tuesday and watched it generate a contour map in 40 minutes. That same task took me 2 days with a rod and level back in 2004. Has anyone else had the machine match their manual numbers within a tenth, or am I just getting lucky with the equipment?

My buddy Mike in San Antonio saw his drone match his old grade rods within 0.05 on every spot.
