Pro tip: I quit printing a full set of plans for every job after the super on the Oakley Ave build showed me his tablet setup
For 12 years I carried a rolled set to every walk and printed revisions at the shop. Cost me about $60 a set and half a day of waiting. Three weeks ago the super on a job in Cleveland pulled out a tablet with the current sheets and all the redlines synced, and I could actually read the detail at the kitchen window. I still keep one paper set in the truck for when the signal drops, but the printing is done. Anyone else make this switch, and what do you do when the wifi in the basement is garbage?
Downloaded the sheets to the tablet before I leave the truck so I'm not stuck hunting for signal in a basement. Also picked up a cheap wifi booster that plugs into the wall and it covers most of a house, way cheaper than the delay. That saves me the walk back upstairs just to check a measurement.
