Unpopular take: BIM 360 is worse than it was 5 years ago
Been using it since 2019 and the 2023 update made the interface laggy and buried the clash detection tools I used daily. Am I the only one who thinks Autodesk ruined a good thing with all these cloud features?

Hard disagree on this one. The old BIM 360 was way more limited in what you could do with model coordination and the cloud stuff has been a lifesaver for teams working remotely. Sure, the 2023 interface takes some getting used to but once you set up your workspace the clash detection tools are actually more powerful than before. Autodesk had to add cloud features to keep up with how construction projects are run now, it's not like they just threw them in for fun. Maybe try rebuilding your navigation pane from scratch instead of using the default layout.

Cloud coordination alone makes the 2023 version worth the hassle. The old workflow for multi-user clash reviews was a nightmare compared to what we have now. Give it a week and you won't want to go back.

You bring up a good point about remote work but nobody is talking about how Autodesk basically forced this on users who don't need cloud features at all. Plenty of small teams just want desktop BIM 360 without paying for extra server space they'll never use. The 2023 update feels like they designed it for mega projects and forgot the rest of us exist. Maybe the cloud stuff is great for some people but why not give us a choice to keep the old interface and just add cloud as an optional upgrade?
