Why does nobody mention the laser level needs calibrating? Cost me a 2 inch step in a 12 ft slab pour
Back in March I picked up a Bosch GLL 3-80 for a garage slab job out in Beaverton. Felt great, checked level on my bench, looked good. Poured a 12 ft by 20 ft slab the next morning. Next week the homeowner walks me to the door threshold and there is a clear 2 inch step from the garage floor to the house. I check the laser against my old bubble level and sure enough it reads 1/4 inch off over 10 ft. Nobody at the tool counter said a word about calibration. I ended up renting a rotary laser for the next pour and now I set the thing on a known level wall every Friday. Anyone here send their laser out for yearly checks or do you just trust it until it burns you?
