Can we talk about the load chart app that led me 12 feet off on a pick in Norfolk last Tuesday
I was setting trusses at a job site near the naval base in Norfolk and my phone app showed 78 percent capacity at a 40 foot radius, but the actual chart in the cab said 94. I almost tipped the whole thing right there on soft ground with a 6,000 pound load swinging. Turned out the app was set to a different counterweight config than what was actually on the machine. I shut it down for 20 minutes, called my lift director, and we re-rigged at a wider radius with outriggers fully extended. I deleted that app off my phone before I even got back in the cab. Does anybody actually trust these third party load apps, or is it paper charts only for you guys?
