DAE use a tennis ball on the load line to stop the block from spinning?
Had a pick last Tuesday at the Port of Tacoma, big HVAC unit, and the load kept rotating every time I boom down. I was fighting it with the swing brake for like 20 minutes until an old timer named Ray walked over and zip tied a tennis ball about 6 feet above the hook block. The extra drag stopped the spin almost right away and I finished the pick in one smooth move. I've been running boom trucks 8 years and nobody ever showed me that. Does anyone else do this or is Ray just messing with the new guy?
